Frequently Asked Questions

1. How do I register for driver's education?

You can register for your driver's education program by calling us at (920) 684-5088 or toll free at 1-866-269-9524 or by filling out the registration form on our website and either mail it or send it via the internet.

2. When should I begin my driver's education program?

The ideal time to begin classroom is about 15 years to 15 + 3 months or older. You may begin at 14 1/2 years old, however, the state will require a refresher course if you do not complete the total program from classroom to your last driving lesson in 13 months. All programs have to be completed in 13 months or a refresher course will have to be taken. We do not charge for the classroom refresher course.

3. What is the required number of classroom hours?

A student under the age of 18 is required by law to complete 30 hours of classroom.

4. When can I get my temporary license from the local Department of Motor Vehicles?

You must be 15 1/2 years of age to receive your temporary license. From the date you receive your temps, you must wait 6 months until you are eligible to take your road test. It is during this 6 month period that we will schedule your behind the wheel lessons. We offer a basic course of 6 - 2 hour lessons or 9 - 1 hour private lessons.

5. When should I call to schedule my first behind-the-wheel lesson?

It is required by the state that the first behind-the-wheel lesson be within 60 days of recieving your temps. After you pass the written temps exam, be sure to call our office immediately to schedule your first behind-the-wheel lesson. You may also schedule more future lessons at this time if you wish.

6. When can I schedule my road test?

You can schedule your road test anytime within the last 11 weeks prior to your 6 month waiting period. Road tests are scheduled electronically by calling the Wisconsin Department of Transportation at 1-888-368-9556 or by going to their website. As soon as you have scheduled your road test, call us to set up your final behind-the-wheel lesson. This final lesson must be completed before your road test can be taken.
